The Internet: What are the characteristics and trends of Web 1.0 and Web 2.0? Based on your analysis, what will Web 3.0 be like?

in the past we have had problems with the 1.0 and 2.0 with the searching of various things.in my opinion i think the way to search will be alot easier. without all of the garbage and junk on the sites that you think are the right sites and have the right info but once you click it it has nothing you can use. i hate that, hopefully 3.0 wont be like that benyam bereket
The characteristics in world wide web 1.0 were not as good as 2.0.

There were a lot of difficulties with World Wide Web 1.0, such as problems with gathering information, security and slower computer progress. The World Wide web for 2.0 was better and helped change the way of computers and internet. However, I think that the 3.0 will be better than any, because of the advancement in our technology.
Web 1.0 was very limited because many people were computer illiterate, and also they had extremely slow internet connections. Web 1.0 was the jump off of the Web, and Web 2.0 allows people options, and websites that create hassle free lifesytle such as ebay. Web 1.0 was dial-up, with 50K bandwidth, and Web 2.0 has a 1 megabit of bandwith, and web 3.0 will have 10 megabits and be full video Web. Web 2.0 created social networking links such as Facebook, and myspace which are fonamally popular with the youth.

I think that soon the Web will be virus free. I really hope so because I have had countless computers break because of hackers, and viruses. They are really annoying, and can be very costly. Also a Web without pop-ups would be more convienent because they also are very annoying.
web 1.0 is one step down from web 2.0 and 3.0 would be just added technology allowing people to be able to use the interent easier and more conveniently.
at some point in the hopefully near future there will be a new version of digg which will allow headlines to be more accurate and and just be all around faster and more accessible. digg is a version of web 3.0
this is a good web cite that explains and runs down the differences between web 1.0 2.0 and 3.0. For example it explains how 2.0 and how it relates to social networking with facebook and myspace. and how it differs from web 1.0
I think this is a good web site because personally i don't know the differences is the detains between 1.0 2.0 and the soon to be 3.0. It is nice because on the bottom there is a forum space that lets the reader respond back to the article and also show there input.

Internet has found another way to get user's to link to it..Have you ever heard of QR code scarf or barcode file transfer? Guess not but don't worry most people haven't at least most people in the U.S. Barcodes are well known in Japan , London, Zurich.
The point of these Qr codes is that these 2-Dimensional Barcodes can hold over 2000 bytes in each square. The barcode holds special messages, music, advertisment, any thing that can be found on the interent.
You can use this Qr code by taking a picture (with your high tech cell phone) of the code and sending it through to the internet by using the 2D-barcode software that decodes the barcode and sends you to the wedpage that can contain anything.
Magazines, newpapers, books, even tags on popular clothes use them for people to get more info about a product, free gifts, games, videos, ringtones, ect.
It's crazy to think how much info can be on a barcode, and how it can connect to the internet. Technology keeps growing more and more soon these barcodes might be on our wrists as a identity code or as a credit card.
Barcode fun is all thanks to are WEB 2.0.If we still had Web 1.0 Qr 2D bracodes wouldn't be possilbe at all.

I think the QR 2D barcode will be big and beneficial for the world.Cell phone technology seems to be icreasing rapidly and taking a sidekick job with the internet. The internet is huge unbeleivably huge. the internet is and infinte source. We luckily keep finding great ways to use it and encourage it.Just think on how people can use them for school, a new trendy fad, just for fun or even a subtraction for the morse code for the military. Qr codes are mind blowing of how technology has grown and also very exciting to have in my life time where a barcode can link to the internet to specific webpages, it's fanominal how a spicker with a bunch of lines and squares is really a URL or some type of Web page that we can connect to.

The Internet is a very amazing tool. It can be used to find information, seek out friends family and new relationships, download anything. Like movies, shows, music, the list is endless. In the past the Internet was introduced as web 1.0. The details of web 1.0 can be summed up as a user logging into the Internet and looking for a specific piece of information. “Web 1.0 is a retronym which refers to the state of the world wide web.” This refers to 2001 when the dot com trend was at large. Now with the current web 2.0 there are a few similarities, yet with a few added concepts. These concepts contain “hosting services, such as, video sharing sites, wikis, blogs and folksonomies.” These concepts allow the users to become the producers of information. Allowing people to access there information and even comment on it through blogs. Allowing the producers to get feed back on their information. Another big trend in web 2.0 is the site YouTube. This allows anyone who signs up to become producers and add there own footage on to the website. Also allowing other users to see other videos they have added, with enabling users to comment on their production. In the future with web 3.0 I believe that there will be information site that will find the user. Instead of the user going out to look for information.
Wikipedia on web 1.0 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_1.0 Wikipedia on web 2.0 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_2.0
Web 1.0 kind of started the internet phenomenon. Web 1.0 provided basic information to it’s users and was very limited in information. Web 1.0 was not easily accessible for the general public. It signified the beginning of something that would revolutionize the way we get our information. Web 2.0 signified that the internet was changing. Web 2.0 brought enhanced creativity and secure information sharing. Web 2.0 concepts have led to the development of social-networking sites, video sharing sites, wikis and blogs. Web 2.0 has also given the user much more information than the previous installment. Web 3.0 will be more user friendly and the user will be able to customize certain news that interests them.
The internet is a great tool for searching information, getting directions, and even shopping. Web 1.0 to me is the old school browser. It is slow and is kind of hard to accesses especially if you were trying to do file sharing. Will 2.0 is a major step up. It was a lot nicer, worked smoother, and more creative. With web 2.0 it allowed you to do a lot of file sharing including pictures, music, and software. I think that web 3.0 Will be designed for the users to play around with. I think that is will be very user friendly. I believe that they will be designed so that the user can customize the whole browser for his specific needs. Doing this will make a lot of user to use web 3.0. Because everyone would rather use a browser that fits them which would make it easier and more useful to use.
Technology for the internet has existed since the early 1980’s, but was never put into use until the world wide web was introduced in 1989. People didn’t catch on to the internet until the mid 1990’s though with web browsers like Mosaic and NetScape Navigator. Original versions of the internet only allowed users to search for information and didn’t feature any kind of interaction with other users except through the use of chat rooms. This was called Web 1.0. Just recently, Web 2.0 has taken over many peoples’ lives. Both MySpace and Facebook have become extremely with teens and college students and allow people to become “friends,” upload pictures, videos and blogs and allow them to comment and send messages to other users all through one internet website. There are also websites that allow users to save websites for future reference and to annotate websites and have other users comment on them or add more notes. YouTube is another good example of Web 2.0. YouTube allows users to upload their own videos, comment and rank other videos and subscribe to other users’ video uploads. Video uploads have never really been possible for the average person until YouTube came around in 2005. Web 3.0 is bound to expand on the idea of social networking that Web 2.0 introduced and to add even more customizability to the world wide web.
Web 1.0 was very slow and easier for viruses to attack. When web 1.0 was created it was alright I guess because it was the first one and theres nothing you can really do except deal with it and wait for the next version to come out. There were also alot of reported complaints on the first version and there could of been alot more upgrades to it. Web 2.0 is a big jump from the first but also has its flaws such as viruses and pop-ups which can be taken care of. Web 2.0 is fast but maybe not as fast as it can be made, also the search engine isn't as specific as it can be. When you search for something alot of unnesessary things come up and that needs to be eliminated. Web 3.0 from my analysis will be much smother than than the recent two and wont consist of too many pop ups and viruses. The search engine will be alot better and accurate and the speed on the browser will be alot better than web 1.0 and 2.0. I feel there is to many icons on the Web 2.0 which should reduce on the Web 3.0 because alot of the icons nobody uses.
One of the main characteristics of Web 1.0 was taking print media and posting it online. It also marks the emergence of large companies like eBay, Amazon, and Google. Some of the trends for Web 1.0 include personal websites and worries over privacy because of the one way flow of information. It was the internet at its infancy. Everything was overly basic. The connection was crap and people were still getting a feel of how computers work. Web 2.0, on the other hand, is when everyone started to/could participate. User-generated content, community, and collaboration are key aspects to this stage of the world-wide web. People interact with one another on websites like MySpace and Facebook by creating profiles and sharing or interacting with other in those communities. Websites, like YouTube, enable users to generate and display their own content for free. Web 3.0 will be the integration of data into more innovative ways that were not conceived of before. Applications will be able to develop, deploy, and evolve at a quicker rate than ever before. Anyone can create their dream applications with little to lose because they would be able to access the same infrastructures.

Web 1.0 was a minimal technology prone system. Web 1.0 was a large step down from what web 2.0 is and web 2.0 is supposed to be a large step down from what web 3.0 will soon be. Although, web 2.0 has not been out that long so people are finding it hard to be able to understand web 3.0 so quickly. “Web 2.0 services are now the commoditized platform, not the final product. In a world where a social network, wiki, or social bookmarking service can be built for free and in an instant (www.broadstuff.com).” Web 3.0 is supposed to be added technology to make searching on the internet much easier and basically everything done on the internet much easier to use. “Web 3.0 is defined as the creation of high-quality content and services produced by gifted individuals using Web 2.0 technology as an enabling platform (www.broadstuff.com).” At some point in the hopefully near future there will be a new version of digg which will allow headlines to be more accurate and just be all around faster and more accessible. Digg is a version of web 3.0 that was designed for experts to be able to be more precise and make things much easier and quicker. “A version of digg where experts check the validity of claims, corrected errors, and restated headlines to be more accurate would be the Web 3.0 version. However, I'm not sure if the digg community will embrace that any time soon (www.broadstuff.com).” As time passes and this technology progresses web 4.0, 5.0 and so on I think will be inquired into the internet. I also think that other companies will be coming out with their own versions of the web and sooner or later it will in high demand and everything on the internet will be faster, easier, and more accessible than anyone thought possible.
With the way I see it, web 1.0 was simple and basic on its level of information. People had it because that was what was available, but there wasn’t much satisfaction in how it worked. Web 2.0 was a big step for the creators and the people using it because it is a little more advanced. It is better at securing the information you share on the internet and it also allows users to do more with social networking sites and sites like youtube where you can post videos. Web 3.0 is something I believe that is going to help with all internet problems. I think that it will help the internet become faster when searching for information and that it will help you find exact results rather than “ones that relate”. I also think that web 3.0 will be stronger than the 2.0 and 1.0 and that it will be better at blocking viruses. Of course viruses are something that is going to be around because people get enjoyment in creating them and annoying people, but I think that a successful web should have some kind of new advanced blocking system to help web users have a safer and more effective computer.
Video games have been around for about thirty years. The games began as quiet games with little to no controversy such as pong, and dungeons n dragons. Also Pac Man came out. These games had a short plot with a quick to the point objective; eat the apples, hit the ball back and forth, save the princess. Today the current trends are not as simple for the game quality, and genre demand are constantly being altered. Violence is a must, as well as excellent graphics. The audience loves gore, guns, and swords. The hero must be the ideal man with muscles, agility, and power. Gamers want quick reactions, online game play, and change as their game develops. The game must not just be a simple quest, but instead a battle for players to be the best among their friends. I believe that the future of video game media all lies within the online game play. The online experience is huge because one is able to download new quests, new maps, and battle with friends to be the best. Rank is huge within gaming society because the gamers want to be better than those around them to ‘trash talk’. I believe that the system, and games that put together the best way for players to compete while having fun amongst themselves will be a money maker. Halo 3 has sold millions of games because of the amount of people who want to make it to level 50. Only a small percent ever will. People are so desperate that they will pay others to make them a level 45 which is sad. Video games are huge market with millions to be made.
Internet started out as Web 1.0 the first Internet that would be in only a small portion of Americans homes. Web 1.0 was slow and limited. There was not a whole lot of information and things to do on the Internet because there was not a whole lot of posters who post things and create web pages. the content was useless, you couldn't get what you wanted out of the Internet because there wasn't anything to get. Currently we have Web 2.0, this can tell you that Internet has not been around very long. Now the Internet is faster compared to Web 1.0, but still it is slightly slow and can be faster. Web 2.0 has much more to offer, because there are billions of web pages and content. Information is at your finger tips you just have to look for it. The Internet offers video games, music, movies, videos , and sounds to it's web pages also there are more of variety of colors. You can do research, and send e-mails. The Internet has become away to connect with people from the other side of the world and it connects you to more knowledge. A new way of socializing, it is also has networking so you can get a job or advertise a job. The Internet is a place where people can put information, music and videos. With Web 2.0 you don't have to miss anything you can most likely find it on the Internet. You can also go shopping on the Internet so you don't have to leave the house for those small errons. On google earth you can take a virtual tour anywhere in the world, so potentially you don't have to leave your house with shopping and world wide tours. Web 2.0 lacks speed and stability. Web 3.0 will be much faster, graphical, stable, and will have more content.
The Internet has been a widely expanding invention for the past 20 or so years. It started out in the 1990s as Web 1.0. You couldn’t do much online except for look up content that was created by other people. You could only look up things like news. Nothing very exciting. Toady is Web 2.0. What’s the big deal? User-generated content. Now people can put whatever they want online. Blogs, social networking, and everything else the Internet has to offer now is a result of Web 2.0. First there’s Web 1.0, then Web 2.0. What’s next? You guessed it, Web 3.0! The new features will include updated graphics and intelligent applications.

“Web 3.0 is defined as the creation of high-quality content and services produced by gifted individuals using Web 2.0 technology as an enabling platform (www.broadstuff.com).”
At some point in the hopefully near future there will be a new version of digg which will allow headlines to be more accurate and just be all around faster and more accessible. Digg is a version of web 3.0 that was designed for experts to be able to be more precise and make things much easier and quicker. “A version of digg where experts check the validity of claims, corrected errors, and restated headlines to be more accurate would be the Web 3.0 version. However, I'm not sure if the digg community will embrace that any time soon (www.broadstuff.com).”
As time passes and this technology progresses web 4.0, 5.0 and so on I think will be inquired into the internet.

Internet
